Lacebark Pine

Lacebark Pine (Pinus bungeana) Lacebark Pine is a distinctive evergreen tree that combines year-round structure with one of the most memorable barks in the landscape. It brings a refined, collected look to gardens, delivering conifer texture overhead while adding visual interest on the trunk and main branches as it matures. This is a strong choice for homeowners who want a specimen tree that looks good in every season, not just during bloom time. If you are looking for an evergreen with character and a clean, architectural presence, Lacebark Pine is an excellent option. Distinctive Features This pine is best known for its exfoliating bark that peels to reveal a patchwork of colors, often showing tones of gray, green, cream, and light brown as the tree ages. The needles are held in threes and create an open, airy canopy that feels lighter than many dense evergreens. Its branching structure can be naturally sculptural, giving winter interest even when the garden is quiet. Over time, the bark becomes the main show, turning the trunk into a living focal feature.
