Baby Kim Lilac

Baby Kim Lilac (Syringa x 'SMNSDTP')Baby Kim Lilac, Syringa x 'SMNSDTP', is a dwarf, compact lilac that delivers full size fragrance and color in a much smaller footprint. Deep purple buds open to soft lavender purple blooms in late spring, covering the shrub in scented flower clusters that shine against clean green foliage. The tight, rounded habit stays low and neat, making Baby Kim an easy fit along walkways, under windows, and in small gardens where traditional lilacs are too large. With its strong fragrance, tidy shape, and reliable bloom, this shrub turns even a small sunny space into a seasonal focal point you look forward to every year.Distinctive FeaturesBaby Kim Lilac typically grows about 2 to 3 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide, forming a dense, rounded mound on multiple stems. Flower buds are a rich purple and open to clusters of lavender purple blooms held at the tips of the branches, giving a full, showy effect in proportion to the plant's small size. The foliage is medium green and healthy looking through the growing season, providing a clean backdrop for the spring flower show and blending easily with perennials and other shrubs afterward. Its combination of dwarf size, strong scent, and colorful spring display makes this lilac especially useful where space is tight but classic lilac character is still desired.Growing Conditions Light: Thrives in full sun with at least 6 hours of direct light daily for strong bud set, sturdy stems, and heavy flowering. Soil: Prefers well drained, moderately fertile soil; adapts to average garden soils that do not stay wet for long periods....
